Class Notes & Requirements:​

  • Toronto Youth Theatre's current class is registering
    AGES 9 - 12

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement.

  • Classes will be running for 10 weeks every Tuesday or Thursday afternoon from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.

  • Tuesday October 5th 2021 to Tuesday Dec 7th 2021. There will be a performance showcase for friends and family at 7:00pm on Tuesday Dec 7th.

  • Thursday October 7th 2021 to Thursday Dec 9th 2021. There will be a performance showcase for friends and family at 7:00pm on Thursday Dec 9th.

  • Rates are $395 INCLUDING tax for all 10 Classes

  • In-person classes are set in a socially distanced, mask-mandatory environment with LOTS of ventilation and are dependent on the covid safety government regulations in place at the time.


Alan Kinsella

Alan is an internationally renowned Acting Teacher, Mentor and Director. Alan began his career as an actor and his debut was at the Abbey Theatre (The National Theatre of Ireland). He went on to direct over one hundred productions in Ireland. In 2009 Alan directed his first off Broadway show Lunch. In 2013 he moved to Canada and his Toronto debut was The Woman in Black at The Lower Ossington Theatre. His production of Mary Poppins won the Broadway World award for Best Musical in 2015. He has also directed for the Watermark Theatre in P.E.I. Alan has written many family shows that have toured China, Jamaica, Qatar, Singapore, Oman, Sharjah and Turks and Caicos. In 2017 he directed productions of Aladdin and Fame at the Madinat Theatre Dubai. Alan has worked with Toronto Youth Theatre for many years nurturing up and coming talent. He has taught in numerous schools and colleges, notable Bull Alley Theatre Training Company, Liberties College in Dublin and Ovation Performing Arts Academy in Richmond Hill. Alan has been on the judging panel and served as a mentor for various performing arts competitions and awards including The All Ireland Variety Show and in Canada the Nova Star Awards and Markham Creates. Alan is Artistic Director of the Markham Theatre Discovery Camp Program.

  • At present our silks classes are not being offered to anyone under the age of 18.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that is unrestrictive and allows freedom of movement.

  • Silks classes are available in 3 different groups: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

  • Rates are $35/ session or $180/ 6 sessions


Haley Shannon has been an artist and athlete for over 10 years. Her experience performing, training and developing shows all over the world has guided her unique aerial content as a coach. Haley began developing her coaching style in 2012 with small workshops in Toronto and grown a client base of amazing, adult artists through full time teaching positions at Toronto studios like "City Dance Corps", "Redwood Theater", "Studio Flux" and most recently "Annex Theater"
